RJ Says: US MX GP at Glen Helen - my thoughts

I was very impressed with the layout of the entire facility - the pits, the press, the track ... the entire presentation.

Everyone from Glen Helen Raceway - Dr. Bud Feldkamp (track owner) to Lori (track manager), their staff including Carl, Steve, Bob did a great job in representing the United States and California in having one of the greatest motocross tracks in America.

I sat with Dr. Wolfgang Srb, President of the FIM Motocross Commission, and he was very impressed with the preparation of everything as well, including the track, especially with the fact that the event was put on with 60 days notice. He thought everything was top notch, and is excited to have the event come back next year.

Here and there

Once again, the month of July has been brutal for us, weather-wise? temperatures in the mid- to upper-90?s, with the heat index pushing us up into the 100?s and even 110?s for about the past three weeks. It?s deceiving to sit inside in the air conditioning (thank God for air conditioning, and for the funds [...]

Uphill Battles

A grassroots motocross track is long, rough, and has plenty of elevation changes.  Just thinking of Glen Helen brings  monstrous and power robbing hills to mind.  Even if your local track doesn?t have steep uphills, the same technique is needed to efficiently maintain speed. The foundation of proper motocross technique tells you to keep your [...]
