Where supercross started - the fabled Los Angeles Coliseum in 1972. This video is from 1985 at the L. A. Coliseum Supercross.
This video is part 1 of 2. I wanted to get it up for you as quickly as possible. In this video, for better or worse, you'll see a lot of me (I'm number 5 on a Yamaha). But in the second video that's coming, you'll see a lot more of my friends in the race like David Bailey, Bob Hannah, Jeff Ward, Goat Breker, Broc Glover, Ron Lechien, Johnny O'Mara, and others.
I think in 1985, we ran two 'main events' at each supercross. Part of what you see here (if my memory is correct) is me winning the first 'main event'.
And stay tuned for the second video! Both videos have the fabled Peristyle uphill / downhill. And especially in the second video coming late next week, with guys like Jeff Ward, David Bailey, Bob Hannah, Broc Glover, Ron Lechien, Johnny O'Mara and myself - you'll see riders with about 33 AMA Supercross and Motocross titles combined!
Hope you enjoy the videos ...

Red Bull/KTM's Marvin Musquin - 2009 and 2010 FIM World Motocross Champion in the MX 2 class, will race in the inaugural Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas Sam Boyd Stadium on October 15.
Marvin said: I'm really happy to race at the Monster Energy Cup. It should be a fun race on my 350cc KTM. I've been told the track should be a mix between motocross and supercross, so I am looking forward to seeing the final layout. My goal is to have fun and be out in front with the other big supercross riders and get some valuable experience before next year.Marvin is coming off his best finishes of his first season in the USA, earning third overall at each of the final two race on the AMA MX Championship, and will represent the growing list of international riders competing in the Monster Energy Cup.The unique hybrid track will consist of supercross / motocross terrain and will have a tremendous MX style influence, making it unlike any other stadium race in the world. This track will be the perfect blend of supercross and motocross, combined and created into the ultimate battleground. The Monster Energy Cup posts a $250,000 purse, awarding the winner a $100,000 check, and for the first time ever, $1 million will be paid to a rider that wins all three main events. This coming weekend, Marvin will be riding for Team France in the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, which you can watch on Supercross.com Septebmer 17 and 18 - http://www.supercross.com/mx-gp-vod

Rick Johnson is a seven time AMA Motocross and Supercross Champion. These are his thoughts on the upcoming 2011 AMA / FIM Supercross Series.
Depending on how healthy riders stay during the season, Supercross 2011 could be an incredibly awesome year.
Of course, we all say that every year, but this year could be something special - if most stay healthy.
As I go down a list of riders, my top pick is defending AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey.
Do I think Ryan will dominate Supercross the way he did outdoor MX in 2010? No, but after watching Ryan over the past few years, and especially at the MX of Nations in Italy in 2009, I've seen his confidence go up and up. Each time out, he gets a little faster, a little stronger, and smarter.

I've spent the past four days out at Pala MX Raceway for the annual A Day In The Dirt Motocross Grand Prix. It's three days of fun, family ... just a really great event. Where else can you ride with both your daughter and Jeremy McGrath?
But instead of telling you what it's about, I thought I'd share with you what it's like to do a lap in one of the Team races. A Team race is where you have a partner (I raced with Louis Franco) and you switch off each lap. You have to 'hand off' a wrist band to your partner - and then he takes off to do the next lap.
