AMA National Motocross Preview - Round 2 Freestone, Texas, includes 5 Things by Brian King

We start our preview and race coverage of the AMA National MX in Texas with "5 Things to Look for at the Freestone National Motocross" by Brian King

1. Another Competitive Race.
Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, and Ryan Villopoto - all Supercross Champions, made the racing last Saturday at Hangtown incredibly exciting. Fan favorite Kevin Windham taking the holeshot only added to the frenzy of the 30,000+ fans on hand in Rancho Cordova. But they were not the only ones making it exciting. Brett Metcalfe, Davi Millsaps, and the return of the Crafty Frenchman Christophe Pourcel made the racing exciting all over the track. The race at Freestone should be no different.

2. More Dominance from Pro Circuit in the 250 Lites MX Class
Blake Baggett, Dean Wilson, Tyla Rattray, Broc Tickle. That is quite a lineup. Broc Tickle, fresh off of winning the West Coast Lites Supercross Championship, was the only non-factor last Saturday from "Team Green". That is not going to last. He showed tremendous talent last year on a Yamaha that was not nearly as tricked out as a PC Kawasaki. He will become a front runner, joining his teammates. That starts this week at Freestone.

Kevin Windham Sparkles in Emerald City, Eli Tomac Gains Big Ground in Lites West

It was good to be a GEICO Honda rider during the 15th round of Supercross in Seattle. Fan favorite Kevin Windham and teammate Eli Tomac both earned runner-up finishes under the Saturday night lights at Qwest Field, Windham on his 450cc ride and Tomac on his 250cc Lites bike. Windham, who won Seattle last season, always [...]

Personal Letter from Ian Trettel

Dear sponsors, friends, and all of my fans;

Since my injury, I've been looking forward to the day that I could personally reach out and thank everyone for all of the love and support that you have shown me and my family through these tough times. I'm so blessed and moved by the constant caring that has been sent my way from each and everyone of you. So first and foremost - THANKS!

On March 5th, I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury during my practice session at the Daytona Supercross. The injury required me to be in a medical coma for almost 4 weeks and I am now in my 7th week of rehab at The Shepard Center in Atlanta. The injury has left me with several physical and cognitive deficits that with dedication and focus can be managed allowing me to live a full and prosperous life. I will continue my rehab through The Shepard Center / Pathways for another 4-5 weeks before I can return home. I'm excited for that time to come and to also see many of you again but for now I need to continue to focus on my rehab so that I can maximize my recovery.

MX Adventures: Leaving the West Coast ... talking with Kevin Windham

{jvideo id=259 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}

Who dat?

This week I caught up with Kevin Windham. In the video below, Kevin Windham talks about the Superbowl Champions, the NFL's New Orleans Saints, his family, his future plans for racing and beyond.

The Superbowl XLIV champions, the New Orleans Saints, have many fans - among them is none other than the number 14 in Supercross, Kevin Windham. While the NFL season started when Supercross was in its off season, Kevin was able to take part in season tickets to his favorite NFL team - da' Saints. Eventually the 2010 Supercross season got underway in January, which meant Kevin was flying off after those Saturday night Main Events back East to watch the New Orleans Saints Playoff games.

On February 7, 2010 the New Orleans Saints headed to the Superbowl in Miami, Florida and Kevin Windham and his wife Dottie made arrangements to attend this momentous occasion. First, however Kevin had to finish up a Supercross race in San Diego the night before.
