RJ SAYS: Hidden Supercross Treasures

This 2010 Supercross season has gone exactly as no one expected. Everyone figured it was going to be a battle between the same two supercross 'titans' as last season - James Stewart and Chad Reed. Last year after 17 races they were the top two, with James the champion by four points over Chad.

To everyone's surprise, even their own, both are currently not racing - injured. They are watching what is essentially a 450 Supercross 'rookie' have a phenomenal year so far (Ryan Dungey).

A hidden treasure is not Ryan Dungey doing so well. I felt, as many others did, that he would have a great year. Based on the following: he's done well & won on a 450 before this season, all the confidence he had coming into this season from winning two championships in 2009 (the 250 West Lites Supercross, and the 250 AMA Outdoor Motocross) and his tremendous riding on a 450 for Team USA at the recent Motocross des Nations in Italy in October.

MX Adventures - Supercross Racers go Pink

{jvideo id=254 height=378 width=660 autoPlay=0}

Supercross will undergo a 'Pink' transformation this weekend in Anaheim to show their support and help promote Breast Cancer Awareness, including contributions to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Orange County.

Expect to see a lot of masculine Supercross guys wearing pink riding gear, or somehow sporting the color to show their support for this great cause. Also it is a Valentines weekend, so many of the guys are getting all kinds of lady love ...

Video Highlights: Round 1 AMA Motocross 2011 Hangtown

It's the start of the AMA National Motocross Series, Round 1 at "Hangtown", officially Prairie City California State Off-Road Vehicle Park, in Rancho Cordova. Hangtown has improved every year, and this year was no different. The track was changed up a bit, and provided all riders with quite a challenge as most of the AMA riders make the transition from indoors (Supercross) to outdoors (MX).

There are two classes in AMA professional motocross: the 250cc Lites class, and the "Motocross" class, which can run engine sizes from 251cc to 500cc. Most riders race 450cc machines, with KTM also having a 350cc machine.
